The 2711-T5A8L1 is a PanelView 550 Standard Operator terminal designed to provide real-time operator interface to the process, machine or equipment. The PanelView 550 is capable of communicating with PLC5, SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix systems through the built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port. It is also capable of exchanging data with non-Allen-Bradley products such as gateways, converters and 3rd party controllers. The 2711-T5A8L1 provides visualization through the Halogen lit 5.5-inch Monochrome screen. It has a field replaceable backlight with a lifespan of 100,000 hr LED backlight life. The screen displays the process equipment and devices that made up the process or machine being monitored or controlled. This version of PanelView 550 supports touch operation. The operator enter control commands and initiate events through the Touchscreen membrane composed of 128 cells that can be actuated up to 1 million time. PanelView terminals are configured with PanelBuilder32 software, a legacy windows application software compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista Business. Other more recent operating system is also supported with software setting needed to be followed. The 2711-T5A8L1 exchanges data through the Data Highway Plus (DH+) port in multi-drop configuration. Multiple nodes can be connected to the terminal which allows interaction between multiple machine or processes, subject to the PanelView’s limits. The built-in RS232 provides an option to connect to an alarm printer for printing alarm lists and messages. The PanelView 550 has a built-in 170KB of Random Access Memory (RAM) and an optionally expandable 240 KB nonvolatile memory. Expansion options are 2MB, 4MB, 10MB and 32Mb flash memory ATA cards. The terminal is DC powered and accepts a rated supply of 18 to 32VDC and power consumption of 18 Watts.
