The 2711-B6C20 is a dual communication port PanelView 600 operator terminal. This product is a legacy product used for Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications. It belongs to the PanelView Standard Operator Terminals. The 2711-B6C20 has colored TFT visualization area. User can implement animations following industry standard color nomenclature. Standard colors such as Green for normal, Yellow for warning and Red for alarm or abnormality may be implemented using this terminal. The screen has a halogen lit backlight with a lifespan of 50,000 hr 1/2 life at 25 °C (77 °F). The backlight is field replaceable by part number 2711-NL5. The Touchscreen and Keypad interfaces allow operator input for the purpose of process control and manipulation. Both interfaces are capable of up to 1 million actuations each. Other functions that can be activated by the interfaces are system dialogs, alarm acknowledgement, local and global functions. The 2711-B6C20 offers communication through Ethernet I/P. It is a flexible communication protocol where multiple partner devices can be connected through IP addresses. The maximum distance of a single Ethernet node is 100m with expansion options through additional switches or fiber optic cables. Specialty cables are not required as any RJ45 connector can be used to connect the terminal to the physical network. The secondary port, RS232 port is a printer port for sending print commands to any IBM enhanced character set printer or equivalent. Print command may be configured to send cyclically or through an operator defined trigger. Alarm list and messages can be sent through this port. The terminal is configured using PanelBuilder32 software. This software can be used to design the runtime graphics and properties of the system. Alarm, Tag trending, user and security are the other standard HMI functionalities that can be defined using this software. IT is powered by an AC source with a rated supply of 85 to 264 Volts of AC with power consumption of 60VA max. It has a built-in RAM of 170 KB application runtime and 240 KB non-volatile memory. The terminal dimension is 192 x 290 x 116 mm 7.55 x 11.40 x 4.57 in and an approximate weight of 2.0 kg (4.4 lb).
