The 2711-K6C10 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device used for implementing automation in the plant floor level of a plant by providing real-time interaction between a process / machine operator to an automated system. The operator terminal is designed by Allen Bradley for the PanelView Standard Operator Terminals. The product line has been discontinued on 12/31/2012 therefore the product is a spare part only. The 2711-K6C10 have met certifications such as Emissions (Class A: Industrial EN50081-2:1993, Programmable Controllers Equipment Requirements and Tests EN61131-2:1995, Low Voltage Directive (Safety Sections of EN61131-1), UL1604 Class 1, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4, CSA 22.2, No. 213 Class 1, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4, EU Batteries Directive, 2006/66/EC among other important ones. The HMI hardware accomplishes HMI functionalities through the installed major components such as the screen, input area and communication properties. The 2711-K6C10 has a 5-inch display with Color active matrix TFT. It has a resolution of 320 x 234 with display area of 15 x 86 mm (4.54 x 3.4 in.). With the colored screen, user can implement animations with reference to standard color coding such as Red, Yellow and Green or plant specific nomenclature. The screen has a replaceable backlight with a lifespan of 50,000 hr 1/2 life at 25 °C (77 °F) with appropriate replacement part number of 2711-NL5. The input area which serves as the operator interface allows operator to take actions based on what is observed from the screen. Operator actions such as start and stop, modification of variables and parameters, acknowledging system dialogs can be done using the Keypad. The keypad has Ten function keys, configurable to specific functions and can be modified per requirement. The terminal has a built-in DeviceNet port where data is actively exchange in simultaneous read/write manner. Though this communication protocol, the process status and operator inputs are read-out and sent. The 2711-K6C10 is powered by a supply input range of 85-264V AC, with a frequency of 47-63 Hz. It has a Random Access Memory (RAM) of 170KB and 240KB non-volatile memory. Runtime operation and PanelView 600 terminal can be configured using PanelBuilder32 software. The software is Manufacture by Allen-Bradley for designing and downloading PanelView Standard Operator Terminal applications.
