The D100TCM20 is a Timer Counter Access module controller, manufactured by Eaton’s Cutler-Hammer line as part of its D100 series of controllers and expanders. This module is a hand-held controller with a keyboard input and an LED screen for display purposes. The D100TCM is black in color and weighs roughly 350 grams. The D100TCM20 receives its power from the controller it uses, which has power ratings of 20 Amperes through a 123 Voltage current. This module can be plugged into a programmer extension in order to enable the altering of its ROM. The D100TCM20, similarly to the other members of the D100 series family, can be reprogrammed through a hand-held device, the D100PG10A, or by connecting it to a personal computer loaded with the IBM software for a specific controller. Communication-wise, the D100TCM20 can be connected with up to 16 systems using a Network Interface D100TCN120. Alternatively, the TCM can be permanently connected to the system. Similarly to all the D100 series modules, the D100TCM20 is equipped with a 1K RAM, high-speed counters of up to 4 kHz, and analog capabilities. Additionally, this TCM module has keypad lock and security lock capabilities in order to prevent unauthorized access to its registers. The main purpose of the D100TCM20 is to check the current and preset values of timers and registers; it also performs alterations of those values while the program is running. The D100TCM20 can be used for diagnostics and troubleshooting of systems connected to it. With a rating of NEMA 4/12, the D100TCM20 is less susceptible to environmental hazards such as water, dust, oil or other atmospheric corrosive agents, and so can be installed outdoors without a dip in its effectiveness and efficiency. Most importantly, the manufacturers’ manual on installation and safety from electrical hazards should be adhered to at all times.
