The D100UV10 is a Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM) module, which is manufactured by the Cutler-Hammer brand. The D100UV10 device primarily stores and records programs; this PROM module can be used to update or alter the operation of a system by transferring a program to a remote or distant location. The D100UV10 can also be used to store a program for speedy recovery in the occurrence of accidental loss, like during the changing of the battery. It can also rerun a program for use in diversified applications, such as various machines that perform similar operations. The D100UV10 can only be erased by UltraViolet light. The D100UV10 can also be interchanged directly with the D100EE10, in D100 20, 40 and 40H controllers.
The D100UV10 can be detached and plugged into the front of the controller without any tools. The module can only be programmed in the 20, 40 and 40H controllers. But once it is programmed, it can be easily interchanged with those controllers. To prevent the PROM from failing, remove the power from the controller when plugging in or removing the D100UV10. When the D100UV10 is inserted into the controller, its PROM type memory will drive the controller. The controller’s program will not be erased but will remain intact. As soon as the DV100UV10 is detached, the program will start operating again. The D100UV10 has an estimated weight of approximately 0.045 kilograms. Note that while the other PROMs can be erased in the controller by Command 40, the D100UV10 cannot be erased in the controller. It can only be erased with a different UV PROM eraser, using UV light.
