About MOPEG240C

The MOPEG240C is a motor operator manufactured by Cutler-Hammer, a division of Eaton. The motor operator belongs to Series G of the motor operators and it has a series G frame. The motor operator mechanism by Eaton allows the users to turn the circuit breaker on and off and reset the switching manually or via a remote. The motor operator is located on the cover of the circuit breaker. The cover offers a clear view of the circuit breaker status. The signals for the on, off, and tripped conditions are available on the cover. The purpose of the MOPEF240C Cutler-Hammer motor operator is to offer different voltages for different applications. A mechanical interlock along with 2 circuit breakers is fitted with the MOPEG240C operator to facilitate standard load transfer switching. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer MOPEG240C motor operator requires between 100 and 240 Volts AC to function properly. If connected with a DC power supply, the Eaton motor operator requires 100 to 220 Volts DC to run properly. The motor operator mechanism has 1 Amp of inrush current and it features a push-to-trip key for better user flexibility. The push-to-trip button lets users manually trip the breaker in case of an emergency. The MOPEG240C motor operator features a cam drive mechanism attached to its motor. The slide mechanism driven by the cam so that the circuit breaker handle can be operated remotely.

To control the operation of the motor, the MOPEG240C features relays and internal limit switches. This setup prevents the hazard of the motor overloading and the overdriving of the circuit breaker handle. The Cutler-Hammer MOPEG240C features a key that allows the users to operate the circuit breaker manually. When the motor is off, there is a special pull-out locking mechanism to padlock the handle of the circuit breaker. This locking mechanism features three padlock shackles, each with a diameter of quarter of an inch (about 6.4 millimeters). The Cutler-Hammer MOPEG240C motor operator has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories as well as the Canadian Standards Association so it is safe to use in the United States and Canada. The product also enjoys the “European Conformity” (CE mark) so it can also be used in Europe. To install the motor operator, make sure that the circuit breaker has no electric power supply connected to it, otherwise there is a hazard of electric shock. The MOPEG240 motor operator installation process is quite easy. Before installation, make sure that the circuit breaker does not have any current or voltage because this could cause severe injury. The package contains all the accessories necessary to fasten the motor operator on top of the circuit breaker. Fasten the screws into the given holes, and if needed, secure the screws with the help of a flat washer, or a nut and lock washer. Then connect the wires, align the slide mechanism with the circuit breaker handle, and close the top of the motor operator. Test the motor operator according to the electrical specifications.
