About MOPJG120C

The MOPJG120 belongs to a long list of circuit breaker motor operators manufactured by Eaton. The motor operator is meant to provide ease and comfort and prevent unnecessary malfunctioning in the circuit breaker due to voltage fluctuations. Normally, circuit breakers trip because of switch-on surges and circuit breaker motor operators like the MOPJG120C can overcome this particular issue. The Eaton MOPJG120C motor operator has 1 Amp of input surge current (or inrush current) which is necessary to start the current flow process in the circuit. The Eaton circuit breaker motor operator features a Series G J-frame that is about the size of a standard circuit breaker. The frame fits on top of the breaker and it is secured tightly by means of Philip screws at both ends. The Eaton MOPJG120C utilizes a voltage in the range of 100 to 127 Volts AC and its operating frequency is 50 to 60 Hertz. If connected to the DC power supply, the motor operator would consume 110 to 125 Volts DC voltage. The Eaton J-frame features a push-to-trip button at the bottom right corner. The push-to-trip button allows users to trip the breaker manually.

Right in the middle of the frame, there is a space to insert the manual operating key. Note that the manual operating key rotates clockwise only. Just next to the manual operating key, there is a circuit breaker indication window that allows users to monitor the status of the circuit breaker. The indication signs that show if the device is on, off, or tripped are also available at the left side of the frame (in the colors red, white, and green). The MOPGJ120C motor operator mechanism contains a small motor wired to the cam drive mechanism to operate the handle of the circuit breaker. The motor operator mechanism lets the users turn the circuit breaker on or off, or reset the switching. The motor runs on various voltages for better customer flexibility. In order to control the motor operation and avoid motor overdriving and overload, the MOPJG120C features internal limit switches and relays. The Eaton MOPJG120C motor operator has been certified by the Canadian Standards Association, Underwriters Laboratories, and it has CE certification for European Conformity. Before installing the motor operator, make sure that the circuit breaker is de-energized properly. Place the motor operator on the circuit breaker and fasten the mounting plate using screws, washers, and nuts. Establish connections and align the motor cam drive mechanism with the circuit breaker handle. Then close the motor operator and electrically test it on the given electrical parameters.
