About MOPLG120C

The MOPLG120C is a motor operator manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. The purpose of the Eaton MOPLG120C motor operator is to reset, open, and close the circuit breaker remotely. The Eaton MOPLG120C belongs to the GL Series that incorporates other family members like the MOPLG240C and the MOPLG24D. They have similar configurations, voltage requirements, and frequency or current ratings as other GL devices. The MOPLG120C circuit breaker motor operator requires 110 to 127 Volts AC or 110 to 125 Volts DC power. The AC-operated motor operator has a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz and its inrush current is 2 Amps. The inrush current below 3 Amps indicates that the motor operator’s components, as well as the attached accessories, are safe from unexpectedly high input surge currents. The face of the Eaton MOPLG120C frame features a keyhole in the middle that is meant for the manual operating key. The key has a clockwise rotation only. A window next to the manual operating key indicates the status of the circuit breaker. To the left of the circuit breaker status window, there are 3 indicators (red, white and green) to show whether the circuit breaker is on, off, or tripped. At the bottom right corner of the frame’s face, there is a red push-to-trip button for the manual tripping of the breaker.

The motor of the MOPLG120C is connected to the cam drive sliding mechanism that operates the circuit breaker handle. Furthermore, internal limit switches prevent the motor from overload condition and overdriving the handle of the circuit breaker. All motor operator accessories from the Eaton Corporation have been certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and the European Conformity (CE). Before fixing the motor operator on any circuit breaker, make sure that the breaker has been de-energized. The MOPLG120C motor operator is fitted on top of the circuit breaker with the help of 8-32 x 3-7/8 inch screws. The screws are secured with the help of a flat washer, lock washer, and a nut. If the breaker has bus structure support, use a nut, flat washer, and lock washer to fasten the motor operator. For circuit breakers supported from underneath, insert the screws in the available holes and tighten them. After fastening the motor operator, attach the terminals of the line and load circuit breaker. Rotate the lead screw assembly or move the circuit breaker handle to align the slide mechanism with the handle. Now close the motor operator and test it according to the electrical specifications.
