The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811N66P3S soft starter is an open soft starter that operates with 200 to 600 Volts AC voltage and with 66 Amps of current. This soft starter belongs to the Eaton S811 series that is part of the S801 series but has a better HMI and communication capabilities than most S801 soft starters. Its enhanced functionalities are settable through its digital interface module (DIM). Communication between the soft starter and other devices on networks such as the DeviceNet or Ethernet networks can be established through the Eaton Quick Connect port. The S811N66P3S soft starter has the pump control option pre-programmed. This feature provides smooth pump speed change and IT eliminates the water-hammer effect that can damage the pumps, pipes, and valves.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811N66P3S open soft starter can increase a motor's lifespan by controlling its current and voltage during the start-up, which reduces electrical and mechanical stress. This device enables optimized starting currents with conventional starting methods like the voltage ramp start or the current limit start. The S811N66P3S soft starter is 20 Horsepower rated at 230 Volts AC. This 3-phase device has a 65-millimeter frame size and many built-in motor protection features that guarantee motor safety during operation. It is also able to protect its internal circuitry with real-time monitoring of the thermal memory value. When the maximum safe temperature of the motor is reached, an overheating alarm is triggered, and power to the motor will be removed. The Eaton S811N66P3S soft starter is an installation-friendly device and its menu is easy to use. The soft starter’s working temperature range is -30 to 50 degrees Celsius.
