About ED2225

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer ED2225 is a two-pole molded case circuit breaker. It is a thermal-magnetic type of circuit breaker. It means that this protecting device uses bimetal and electromagnetic assemblies to provide short-circuit and overcurrent protection to the users’ electrical installations. The current rating of the ED2225 is 225 Amps. If this current value is exceeded during the normal operation of the device, its trip mechanism will react automatically by disrupting the current flow through it. After this, the operating handle visible from the front side of the MCCB will go to the “trip” position. In this way, the operator is informed about the situation in the electrical circuit. The device should not be reset until the cause of unit’s tripping is resolved.

The Cutler-Hammer ED2225 is part of Eaton’s C Series of circuit breakers. It can be used in installations with 240 Volts AC maximum voltage or 125 Volts DC maximum voltage. The device includes terminals on the load end only. If an application requires standard line-end terminals, then users must order this part with the added suffix “L”  to the catalog number. This MCCB has short-circuit rating of 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. The ED2225 has an F-frame housing with compact dimensions of 3.5 inches x 5.2 inches x 7.4 inches (89 millimeters x 132 millimeters x 188 millimeters). Install this device horizontally or vertically in electrical cabinets that maintain the surrounding air temperature at between -20 and 70 degrees Celsius (-4 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit). The ED2225 circuit breaker is listed in accordance with the standards from Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
