The ED3225 is a 225 Amps complete molded case Westinghouse/Cutler Hammer circuit breaker. The circuit breaker is ideal for use with reverse fed applications. The ED3225 only has load side lug terminals and its trip mechanism cannot be individually replaced. If the trip mechanism is faulty, the whole unit should be replaced. The ED3225 is a Type ED Series C circuit breaker with a temperature rating of 40 degrees Celsius and it supports instantaneous and LI-long-time trip functions. The ED3225 has 3 poles, a voltage rating of 240 Volts AC, 125 Volts DC, and a thermal magnetic trip protection type. The ED3225 molded case circuit breaker from Eaton has an AIC rating of 65 kA at 240 Volts AC, and 10 kA at 125 Volts DC. The circuit breaker uses bolt-on connections (Cable In and Cable Out) and it is panel or DIN rail mountable.
The ED3225 measures 3.38 inches by 4.13 inches by 4.13 inches and it is UL listed. The circuit breaker meets the NEMA SABS 156, SEV 157, IEC 157-1, BS 4752, AS 2184, and the AB1 standards. The ED3225 is purposely manufactured for commercial applications. The ED3225 Westinghouse circuit breaker, as with other Series C molded case circuit breakers, does not provide for the field installations of internal components. The Series C breakers are meant to provide a prolonged service life without maintenance. However, regular inspections should be performed, ensuring that the tripping mechanism is manually tested to check for delay times. Malfunctions during inspection call for a replacement of the whole unit.
