The EDS3125 is a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic complete molded case circuit breaker designed and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The breaker contains load side lug terminals. The EDS3125 is a Series C, type EDS circuit breaker. Additionally, the Westinghouse circuit breaker has an F frame type. Series C circuit breakers accommodate a variety of external accessories, including the base mounting hardware which is only supplied on request. For the accessories, the EDS3125, as with other series C breakers, uses pan-head steel screws, lock washers, and clamps whether when mounting the breaker individually or in a group. The Cutler-Hammer EDS3125 also accommodates terminal shields which guard against accidental wire contact. Terminal shields are made from high-dielectric insulating material and fastened over the front terminal access terminals. For the external accessories, the EDS3125 also accommodates terminal end covers which are also made from glass polyester which is dielectric.
At 125 Volts DC, the EDS3125 has 10 kAIC. The circuit breaker is UL listed. The maximum current rating for the EDS3125 stands at 125 Amps and it has 3 poles. Note that all standard ratings for the EDS3125 are calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius. However, Eaton provides specialized test documentation upon request. The circuit breaker has a maximum voltage rating of 240 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC. The EDS3125, as with other molded case circuit breakers from Eaton, is designed to provide circuit protection for low-voltage distribution systems. Note that all F frame circuit breakers like the EDS3125 have the ability to be used in marine applications and they are designed to conform to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards.
