The EHD2040 circuit breaker with a molded case is part of Series C of the circuit breakers manufactured by Eaton. Every system that has electrical components that are interconnected needs to have reliable and efficient circuit protection, so the integration of a circuit breaker is inevitable. The circuit breaker will provide the necessary protection for systems that generate low voltage power and prevent the outcome of current overloads and short circuits. If circuit protection is not included, the users should be aware that current overloads and short circuits could lead to damaged equipment and they can put the health and safety of the people operating the system at risk. The EHD2040 model comes as a complete breaker and it includes fixed thermal/fixed magnetic trip types and load side terminals. Besides that, the EHD type circuit breaker has an F-frame and two poles.
The EHD2040 circuit breaker also includes a current rating of 40 Amps and a 50/60 Hertz operating frequency. In addition to that, the EHD circuit breakers with F frames have a continuous current rating at 40 degrees Celsius of 15 to 100 Amps and their interrupting rating is 18 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. These comprehensive molded case circuit breakers from this series are UL listed and certified according to the latest standards. It is important to mention that this HACR rated device is also suitable for uses that include reverse feed. The dimensions of the EHD2040 circuit breaker include a length of 858 millimeters (3.38 inches), a height of 698 millimeters (2.75 inches), and a width of 698 millimeters (2.75 inches). The weight of the device is around 1.3 kilograms (3 pounds). The ambient temperature of circuit breakers of this type is within a range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius (32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit). Additionally, these circuit breakers can be calibrated to operate in different temperature ranges where working conditions are not ideal.
