About FD2175

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FD2175 Circuit Breaker is a Series C, Frame F, Molded Case circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit designed for providing users devices (motor and motor starter) with complete protection against current short-circuit and overloads. This device consists of 3 main components, a non-interchangeable trip unit made of a thermal-magnetic trip element, a trip-free operating mechanism which provides means of operating the circuit breaker contacts, and an extinguishing arc which confine the arc drawn between breaker contacts. The FD2175 has 175 Amps rated continuous current rating, and it is suitable for 500 Volt AC ground and unground system. It has a maximum interrupting rating of 35 KAIC at 480 Volt AC, and it comes with a 2-pole wiring, which can be used in a single-phase system. It is suitable for reverse feed wiring, and it only has load lone terminals, which provides simple and fasting wiring.

The FD2175 is designed to protect conductors and connected devices from overload and short-circuit, and it has a factory designed trip unit, which is closed to any further adjustment from users. The circuit is designed to provide both thermal and magnetic trip action using bimetal metal material and electromagnet connected in series, and with load, and this connection together provided a very cheap and fast acting trip action. It has a rated 40 degree Celsius operating limit and is used in an environment with non-condensing relative humidity range within 0 to 95%. The FD2175 weighs approximately 1.4 Kilogram, with a total mounting dimension of 70 x 152.4 x 86 millimeters, and it is designed to meet, IEC, AS, UL, BS, and SEV standards.
