About FD4045

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FD4045 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker in the Series C, Frame F line of completely assembled circuit breakers with only load side terminals, used for circuit overload protection in a wide range of low voltage systems. It is designed to provide conductors and connected electrical appliances with instantaneous protection, and it is rated for reverse feed use and HARC rated applications. The FD4045 has a continuous current rating of 45 Amps, with an interrupt rating of 35 KAIC and is designed for ranges of applications with 600 Volt AC maximum line operating voltage. This breaker consists of a sealed enclosure, a non-interchangeable trip unit, load end only terminals, an operating mechanism. The terminal is a UL rated Copper/Aluminium steel with 4 to 50 millimeter square wire range designed to meet nominal load rating.

The FD4045 trip unit consists of non-adjustable trip elements, which provide thermal trip action using currently heated bimetal, and a magnetic trip action using electromagnet connected in series. In the event that the circuit current exceeds the nominal value, a trip free operating mechanism prevent contacts from being held closely together, and this operating mechanism indicates the breaker’s position (an advantage in systems with multiple breakers). The FD404 is designed to provide 80% rating below a 40 degree Celsius temperature limit, and it is built to operate within a 0 to 95% non-corrosive and non-condensing relative humidity condition. The FD4045 has IEC, UL, and CSA certifications, and is shipped with a net weight of 6.0 pounds and an aggregate volume of 5.5 x 6.0 x 3.4 inches.
