The FDB3070 is a Westinghouse/Eaton Cutler-Hammer 3-pole circuit breaker. The breaker has a non-interchangeable trip unit and it is used for circuit protection where the circuit current does not exceed 70 Amps. The protected circuit should also not exceed a voltage of 600 Volts AC. If the circuit being protected by using the FDB3070 is also using a DC power supply, the DC voltage should not exceed 250 Volts DC. The FDB3070 is a Type FDB and it belongs to Series C of the Eaton Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers with a complete molded case. The circuit breaker has an F-frame type. The Eaton FDB3070 complete molded case circuit breaker features load terminals only and its tripping mechanism is the fixed thermal fixed magnetic type. The kAIC interrupt rating for the FDB3070 stands at 18, 14, or 10, at 240 Volts AC, 600 Volts AC, or 250 Volts DC, respectively.
At 480 Volts AC, the FDB3070 has a 14000 AIC interrupt rating. When mounting the circuit breakers, the screws used should be able to support a weight of 4 pounds. Having an F-frame type, accessory installation should be done before the FDB3070 is mounted and connected. Additionally, since the circuit breaker includes factory installed internal accessories, ensure that the accessory wiring can be reached when the FDB3070 is mounted. After installing the FDB3070, as with other circuit breakers from Eaton, inspect all the mounting hardware and the terminals connecting the hardware to the correct torque loading. To manually test the tripping mechanism, the FDB3070 contains a PUSH-TO-TRIP button. The circuit breaker handle can be set in 3 positions i.e ON, OFF, and TRIP, with the positions being color-coded for proper monitoring and troubleshooting.
