About FDC2040

The FDC2040 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker that is manufactured and designed by Cutler-Hammer. This specific circuit breaker has the ability to protect circuits in low-distribution systems. The main function of this device is to interrupt a circuit between contacts when abnormal conditions occur. Circuit breakers have the ability to operate multiple times and be set back into service once the fault has been corrected. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2040 thermal magnetic circuit breaker is an FD frame breaker that includes double trip technology. This breaker operates at a voltage of 480 Volts AC and it features 2 poles, these features make it eligible for single-phase applications. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2040 thermal magnetic circuit breaker has a maximum continuous rating of 40 Amps at a specific maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

The FDC2040 also has non-interchangeable trip units and it includes terminals just on the load end. When calibrated, a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius is used. If the application requires a different maximum temperature, a new calibration must be performed or the circuit breaker must be derated by at least 10%, depending on the required temperature. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2040 thermal magnetic circuit breaker is HACR rated and it is suitable for applications or systems that require high-intensity discharge. In order to maximize the protection level that can be offered by the Cutler-Hammer FDC2040 thermal magnetic circuit breaker, this device can be placed in a series as long as they share the same specifications and voltage ratings.
