The FDC2090 is a modeled case circuit breaker that belongs to the Cutler-Hammer C Series of modeled case circuit breaker, specifically Frame F circuit breakers. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2090 modeled case circuit breaker has a thermal-magnetic mechanism that combines the thermal functioning with magnetic detection. This circuit breaker provides high levels of protection to the system, impeding high-line transient damage to both the system and the connected equipment. It can be placed in a series with other matching circuit breakers to enhance its protection features. The Cutler-hammer FDC2090 modeled case circuit breaker operates with a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. It features a maximum continuous amperage of 90 Amps at a specific temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
It is important to note that the recommended ambient air temperature is 40 degrees Celsius maximum. If a higher temperature is required, the breaker must be derated by at least 20%. Further derating is required if the breaker installed in an enclosure, due to slow heat dissipation. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2090 modeled case circuit breaker features 2 poles and non-interchangeable trip units that include terminals on the load end only. The Cutler-Hammer FDC2090 modeled case circuit breaker is specially used as a compact switch in applications that require high interrupting capabilities. This circuit breaker is an instantaneous type and it can be fully operative as soon as a fault has been corrected and cleared. Accessories like alarms, keeper nuts, terminal end covers, and interphase barriers can be added to improve the performance of the circuit breaker.
