The FDC3100 is an F-frame molded case circuit breaker classified as a Series C breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The rated current of the circuit breaker is 100 Amps. Depending on the insulation system of the FDC3100, the rated current can withstand 10% of the normal voltage of the system. If the current goes above 100 Amps, the molded case circuit breaker will not operate according to its specifications because an excess current hampers its power. The F frame molded case circuit breaker measures 4.125 inches (105 millimeters) x 6 inches (152 millimeters) x 3.375 inches (86 millimeters) depth. The approximate shipping weight of the circuit breaker is 4.75 pounds (2.155 kilograms) and it limits the available FDC type current.
The three-poled circuit breakers like the FDC3100 can be connected to three wires for three different phases. The FDC3100 is capable of an interrupting capacity of 200,000 kAIC at 240 Volts AC (at 50/60 Hertz frequency), 100,000 kAIC at 480 Volts AC (at 50/60 Hertz frequency), 35,000 kAIC at 600 Volts AC (at 50/60 Hertz frequency) and of 22,000 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The thermal magnetic circuit breakers are suitable for reverse feed usage and the trip ratings cannot be changed in the molded case circuit breakers. The FDC3100 is recognized by numerous international certification organizations that indicate its superior quality performance. The maximum continuous current rating of the FDC3100 is 40 degrees Celsius. The maximum current rating of this F frame circuit breaker is 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC at 100 kAIC.
