The HFDE316036 is a molded case circuit breaker manufactured by Cutler-Hammer (a division of the Eaton Corporation). This is one of the most advanced circuit breakers on the market, equipped with the Digitrip RMS 310+ electronic tripping unit that has LSIG tripping capabilities. This means that the HFDE316036 has independently settable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground protection. The HFDE316036 can be integrated into electrical installations with the maximum voltage rating of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. The current capacity of the device is 160 Amps.
This Eaton Series C electronic molded case circuit breaker has an F Frame that measures 105.0 millimeters x 86.0 millimeters x 152.4 millimeters (4.13 inches x 3.38 inches x 6.00 inches). The module has 3 poles. The terminals are factory installed only on the load side. When it comes to the interrupting capacity, this MCCB can handle up to 65 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and up to 100 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. On the front side of the device, there is a handle that is moved automatically to the trip position when the device senses any state that activates its protection function. The handle must be moved to “reset” and then to the “on” position for the device to start conducting electricity again. The Cutler-Hammer HFDE316036 is very flexible with the protection settings. All the setting knobs must be set to the appropriate values by the qualified service people. The device weighs approximately 2 pounds (4.5 kilograms), it is HACR rated, but it is not UL rated. The frequency rating of the module is 50 to 60 Hertz.
