The GHB3040 circuit breaker is part of the C Series by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. This GHB circuit breaker has a molded case and a Type G NEMA frame. This model also features 3 poles and it includes a bolt-on feature and a fixed thermal magnetic trip. The UL 489 listed interrupting capacity rating of the circuit breaker includes 277 to 480 Volts AC and 125 to 250 Volts DC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. Besides that, the GHB3040 circuit breaker includes 14 kAIC or an interrupting AC rating of 14000 Volts and a continuous current of 40 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius. This G frame circuit breaker, as well as other devices with this kind of frame, can be used for reverse feed and it includes a common trip unit type. In addition to that, this model is HACR rated and its trip units are non-interchangeable.
When it comes to standards and certifications, the GHB3040 is built to meet requirements according to Federal Specification W-C-375b, which includes Class 13b. It should be noted that the 480Y/277 Volts AC circuit breaker is not suitable for 3-phase Delta (480 Volts) applications. The GHB type of a circuit breaker is mounted with a bolt-on panelboard and it can withstand temperatures from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. For some applications, this circuit breaker can be calibrated to operate in environments with much lower and much higher temperatures. The G frame circuit breaker can be additionally enhanced with external accessories such as different kinds of handle blocks, handle locks, cylinder locks, key interlock kits, sliding bars, walking beam interlocks, plug-in adapters, and many more. In addition to that, an auxiliary switch can be added so that the control panel builder can be used to indicate the breaker’s status. The GHB3040 circuit breaker is a highly flexible industrial device with various features and it provides a full scope of internal and external accessories.
