The JDB2100 is a type JDB series C molded case circuit breaker designed and manufactured by Eaton Corporation. The circuit breaker has a non-interchangeable trip unit which allows instantaneous and Long-time trip functions. The JDB2100 has load and line terminals and has standard interrupt capacity. The circuit breaker has a fixed thermal fixed magnetic trip mechanism to provide the required protection to a circuit. The JDB2100 has two poles and is rated to be used in circuits with a rated Amperage of 100 Amps and a voltage of 600 Volts AC. Additionally, the Cutler Hammer JDB2100 is specifically designed to protect circuits that are powered from a single-phase power source. The circuit breaker uses a J-frame type and accommodates a feed-thru connection.
The JDB2100 also accommodates an optional shunt trip, an optional undervoltage release, and an optional alarm switch. The circuit breaker, as with other Eaton molded case circuit breakers with non-interchangeable trip units, is suitable for reverse feed use. The JDB2100, by having a molded case, protects its internal components against moisture. The case also does not support the growth of fungus. Being a J-framed circuit breaker, the JDB2100 can be ordered in its constituent parts which are advantageous in case field installation is required. However, user assembled circuit breakers cannot be used for reverse feed use. Note that all J-framed circuit breakers from Eaton are HACR rated. As with other circuit breakers manufactured by Eaton, the JDB2100 goes through 2 calibration tests on each pole to ascertain its operating mechanism, accuracy, trip mechanism and continuity.
