The CHKD3400F Molded Case Circuit Breaker is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer brand designed for electrical as well as machinery OEMs used in various industrial settings. This module, which is part of the Series C family, incorporates modern technology with high-reliability features that have made it one of the best products on the market. The Series C family consists of high-performance thermal-magnetic breakers, molded case switches, and electronic trip breakers as well as motor circuit protectors in addition to specially designed breakers intended for use in mining, engine generators, and DC applications. Its current ratings can go as high as 2500 Amps and it offers high-speed blow-open action. The module is also available for 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC systems. The efficiency and performance offered by the CHKD3400F circuit breaker exceed those calculations listed in the IEEE standards.
With three poles and an optional shunt trip as well as an under-voltage trip feature, the CHKD3400F is set to serve numerous user application needs. There is also an optional alarm switch integrated into this particular module. The module’s standard interrupting capacity is 40 degrees Celsius and its AIC rating is 65 kiloamps (kA) at 480 Volts. Also, the CHKD3400F is 100% rated and a bolt-on frame-type feature is also provided. There are no lug terminals or trip units available on this module. It is important to note that all Eaton Circuit Breakers (K-type) are HACR rated and are available as isolated components or factory assembled products. K-Frame circuit breakers featuring non-interchangeable trip units are typically suitable for use in reverse feed applications. The CHKD3400F is available for systems having up to 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC with maximum current ratings of 2500 Amps. In addition, the module can be used in busway, switchboard, and in panelboard applications for optimal branch circuit protection.
