Eaton Cutler-Hammer is the sole manufacturer of the HKD3400K circuit breaker. It is a molded case circuit breaker device. With the K frame covering the device, it operates with 400 Amps of current. The HKD3400K belongs to the HKD series of Eaton Cutler-Hammer circuit breaker devices. The running voltage has been set at 600 Volts AC and at 250 Volts DC. This is a 3-pole device with a fixed trip type. Interruptions can be made at various stages because it has different ratings. The HKD3400K comes with high interrupting capacity of 100 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and one of 65 kAIC at 480 Volts AC rating.
The optimal running frequency is adjustable and it depends on the type of load that is on the device. It has a feed-thru connection and non-automatic protection. It lacks both line and load terminals. The HKD3400K comes with various protective features. It has an Arcflash Reduction maintenance system, an interchangeable trip unit, and a trip indicator. There are various alarms which indicate high loads and trips, ground faults, and that indicate whether or not the zone selective interlock feature is interlocked. The HKD3400K has been certified with the UL, CSA, and CE ratings. It is an industrial grade device. On the front face of the device, a lever is present to toggle the breaker device between the on and off states. A switch is also present that checks the breaker functionality manually. It is used over time to check the tripping function of the device. A 1-year warranty comes with the device that starts from the date of installation.
