About KD4200

The Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer/Eaton KD4200 is a molded case circuit breaker with an interchangeable trip unit. The KD4200 circuit breaker is part of the Series C molded case circuit breakers product line made by the Eaton company. The KD4200 has a K-frame for protection and it is UL and CSA approved. The interrupt ratings for the circuit breaker, as with other K-frame molded case circuit breakers, are capped at 40 kAIC at 415 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC, and at 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. These interrupt ratings are defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC 157-1) standards.

The Westinghouse/Cutler-Hammer/Eaton KD4200 circuit breaker has 4 poles and it can be used in electrical circuits that do not exceed an operating current of 200 Amps. Additionally, the protected circuits should not exceed a voltage of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC in alternating current or direct current powered systems/circuits, respectively. The KD4200 circuit breaker does not have a neutral pole and it does not provide neutral protection. The circuit breaker uses a thermal magnetic trip mechanism. The trip unit used by the KD4200 circuit breaker is user-replaceable, provided the breaker was user-assembled. When used to provide protection to 250 Volts DC-powered systems, the KD4200 molded case circuit breaker has a minimum time constant of 8 milliseconds at a current rating of 22 kiloAmps. Note that the KD4200 can be factory-assembled. For the terminals, the circuit breaker has load and line side lug terminals.
