The KT3150T is a molded case circuit breaker which is manufactured by Eaton. It is designed to provide circuit protection for low voltage distribution applications. These circuit breakers provide protection against overloads and short-circuits. The circuit breakers are certified by UL, the NEMA standards, the AS standards, the British standards, IEC, the T-Mark standards, SABS, SEV, and other standards. The KT3150T is a thermal magnetic type trip unit and it has 3 poles. The current rating for the device 150 Amps. It is a trip unit only. The thermal magnetic circuit breakers contain 2 different switching mechanisms which are a bimetal switch and an electromagnet. When a high load current passes through the core of the field, it generates a magnetic field strong enough to attract the armature, causing the switch to trip.
These types of circuit breakers are used in applications where it is necessary to limit the short circuit quickly. The KT3150T is from Series C of the circuit breakers and it is designed according to the North American standards and for special applications. The circuit breaker cases are molded from glass polyester, which prevents any growth of fungus. The K-frame circuit breakers are HACR-rated. The KT3150T should be installed according to the instructions given by the manufacturer and all the safety instructions should be followed. Before turning on the power supply, make sure the connections are made securely and that the switch is in the off position.
