The HLD3600F is an electronic circuit breaker that belongs to Series C of the circuit breakers designed and manufactured by Cutler-Hammer. This circuit breaker is specially designed for engine generators, DC, and mining applications. The Cutler-Hammer HLD3600F electronic circuit breaker has 3 poles and a frame current rating of 600 Amps maximum at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. This circuit breaker includes its own frame. The Cutler-Hammer HLD3600F electronic circuit is considered as a high-interrupting capacity breaker and it can be applied to those applications that require a high interrupting capacity. Other internal and external accessories such as alarms, shunt trips, and under-voltage release mechanisms, can be added to improve the performance of the device.
Some benefits of circuit breakers are that they can ensure safe operation while they interrupt short circuits and abnormal transients. They can be used as a unit or in a series, and they need to have the same voltage and transients. This breaker features its own frame and enclosure; it will not require additional protection. The calibration of the device is based on a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) and a recommended cable length of 4 feet (1.2 meters). If the ambient temperature is increased, the device must be derated. The calibration is also performed at a frequency of 60 Hertz. The installation of the Cutler-Hammer HLD3600F electronic circuit requires a larger size cable and a larger bus sizing in order to avoid exceeding the component temperature limits. When installing, it is recommended to place a signal on the line, load terminal or T-connectors, which are usually the hottest terminals.
