The Eaton Cutler-Hammer LDB3500W Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker in the Frame L, Series C family of Eaton general-purpose circuit breakers with molded casing and non-adjustable trip units. This device is used for short circuit protection and overload protection in a variety of low-voltage systems, and it is HACR rated and CE marked for use in a variety of industrial settings. The LDB3500W has a continuous current rating of 500 Amps, with a maximum interrupt rating of 35 KAIC, and it is suitable for reverse feed use. It is assembled without line or load terminals, and it comes with a 3-pole design that is designated for either single or 3-phase use. It has an insulated frame, with a non-adjustable trip unit, and an operating mechanism.
The trip unit provides instantaneous magnetic and thermal trip actions, and these are achieved by using electromagnets in series with the current load, and a bimetal strip which deflects upon detecting a prolonged current overload.
