The MDL2300 is a molded case circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker is part of Series C of the Eaton MDL Type molded case circuit breakers. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker features 300 Amps of current rating, 600 Volts AC, 2 poles, 1 phase, load and line side lug terminals and 50 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker is contained in the Frame M Enclosure. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker is designed for protecting conductors from being subjected to excessive overloads and the integrated devices, for example, motor starters and the motors, against short-circuiting. Glass-polyester is utilized during the manufacture of the Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker for preventing fungus from growing on the circuit breaker peripherals. The operator should be aware of the circuit breaker parts that may be affected by fungus and apply special treatment to those areas.
The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker’s switch serves as a compact switch in the systems that require high-current switching abilities. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker’s switch is made from circuit breaker devices and characterized by high instantaneous automatic designs. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker’s load and line terminals offer easy connection of the wires for the specific range of continuous current ratings and the types of wire used. The terminal for the wire connection is held firmly by slotted screws, lock washers, and 2 pan-head screws that can be easily verified for proper retightening and torque loading via the Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker’s front side before mounting the conductors. The Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker load and line terminal conductors are mounted in the conducting holes of the wire connecting terminal and that are held by the recessed socket screws that are easily tightened to the desired torque loading from the front side of the Cutler-Hammer MDL2300 circuit breaker.
