About RD320T53W

The Eaton RD320T53W is an electronic circuit breaker with an interchangeable trip unit. The trip unit uses the Digitrip RMS 510 with long-time and short-time delay support. The RD320T53W, as with other Westinghouse circuit breakers, has a toggle-type handle mechanism to initiate operations such as on, off, and reset. Although these operations are user-initiated, the RD320T53W can also assume a fourth state, tripped, as an automatic response to short circuits or overloads. The tripped state is indicated by the handle being between the on and off positions. To revert the RD320T53W back to active circuit protection, the fault causing the trip should first be cleared before a reset is initiated.

The Westinghouse RD320T53W has an amperage rating of 2000 Amps and a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC at a frequency ranging from 50 and 60 Hertz. Note that the terminals for this circuit breaker are supplied separately. As a standard procedure, Eaton exposes all of its circuit breakers, including the RD320T53W, to 2 tests (calibration) on each of the 3 poles of the RD320T53W to ascertain the breaker’s operating, trip, accuracy, and continuity mechanisms. The calibrations (standard) are done at a maximum ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. The RD320T53W has a standard interrupting capacity of 65 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. The circuit breaker is the Type RD and it has an R Frame size. Additionally, the circuit breaker houses its internal components in a complete molded case which is resistant to environmental conditions such as moisture. The case is also fungus-resistant.
