The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGS3100FFB Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a factory-assembled complete Series G Frame EG circuit breaker with a non-interchangeable trip unit that is used in a variety of low-voltage distribution systems for short-circuit and overload protection. The EGS3100FFB has a 3-pole design with an EG frame and a bolt-on terminal option designed for easy and simple filed wiring. It is HACR rated and it is designed for most low-voltage appliances. It has a continuous current rating of 100 Amps, with 35 kAIC of maximum interruption rating at 480 Volts AC, and it is designed mainly for a circuit with a 600 Volts AC voltage rating. The EGS3100FFB comes with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit that is designed to provide a high-speed trip action by using current-sensitive bimetal thermal and magnetic elements.
The non-adjustable nature of its trip unit allows for it to be used for a long time without maintenance, and it also prevents errors from accidental human contact. The EGS3100FFB has a mechanical trip-free operating mechanism that is designed to keep the breaker’s contact open throughout the entire duration of the circuit overload, and it also helps to indicate to users if the breaker is on, off, or tripped. Unlike breakers with electronic trip units, the EGS3100FFB, like every other thermal-magnetic breaker, is 80% rated, and it has a designated operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius. It can be calibrated for a higher temperature (50 degrees Celsius maximum), and it must be used within a 0 to 95% non-condensing and non-corrosive relative humidity range. The EGS3100FFB has a gross shipping weight of 3.0 pounds, with total shipping dimensions of 3.0 x 5.5 x 2.99 inches, and it is designed to meet the AS, BS, CE, UL, and the CSA international standards.
