The Eaton Cutler-Hammer JGS3100FAG Circuit Breaker is a completely assembled circuit in the Series G Frame JG family of Eaton thermal magnetic circuit breakers. It provides universal circuit protection in a variety of low voltage systems. This breaker has load and line side terminals as standard features for easy field installation, and it also comes with a 3-pole wiring option which can be wired for both single-phase and for 3-phase applications. The JGS3100FAG is AC and DC rated with 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC at the maximum operating voltages, and it also has a continuous current rating of 100 Amps. It has interrupting capacities of 35, 40, and 85 kAIC at 480, 415, and 240 Volts AC input, and it is HACR-rated.
The JGS3100FAG factory-assembled breaker consists of a JG frame with an insulated enclosure, line and load end terminals, and a thermal-magnetic trip unit. The trip unit consists of a fixed thermal trip element which provides thermal tripping, and an adjustable magnetic trip element which consists of electromagnets arranged in series along a line current, and it can be adjusted to up to 10 times the rating of a continuous current. The JGS3100FAG has a toggle handle operating mechanism of the “quick make or break” type which helps to prevent the closure of the contact in the event of abnormal circuit current conditions, and this operating mechanism indicates if the breaker is on, off, or tripped. The JGS3100FAG weighs about 6.0 pounds with aggregate shipping dimensions of 4.13 x 7.0 x 3.5 inches, and it is designed to meet UL, IEC, and CSA standards.
