The Eaton Cutler-Hammer NGH312038E Molded Case Circuit Breaker with an electronic trip unit is a factory-assembled electronic breaker designed to provide circuit protection in most applications requiring a very high level of system coordination. This breaker has a 3-pole design with an embedded trip element and a trip bar on each pole which causes the simultaneous opening of all 3 poles in the event of an abnormal circuit condition, and it features adjustable long time, short time, instantaneous, and ground fault pick up settings. The NGH312038E has a nominal current rating of 1200 Amps, with an interrupting rating of 65 kAIC at 480 Volts, and it is designed to sustain a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC line voltage across its terminals. It comes with imperial tapped line and load side pressure terminals made of copper/aluminum conductors, and it has 3-pole wiring designed for both single and 3-phase use.
It trip unit is of the True RMS sensing type which is designed to provide reliable and accurate protection to conductors and connected appliances, and it is capable of providing temperature monitoring via the over-temperature trip. The NGH312038E is supplied with imperial tapped line and load side pressure terminals, and mounting hardware. It offers an adjustable long time pickup with settings between 0.5 and 1.0% of the rating plug, and a short time pickup setting of 200 to 800% of the rating plug. It also offers an adjustable ground fault pickup setting, and with a delay timing range of 0 to 500 milliseconds. The NGH312038E is designed with an instantaneous override setting for added protection, and it has a ground thermal memory which completely remembers recent timing sequences, and it uses the information to impose shorter timing sequences on future overloads. It has a rated operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and it can be recalibrated for a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius operating temperature. The NGH312038E weighs approximately 20.4 kilograms, and it has net shipping dimensions of 209.6 x 406.4 x 139.7 millimeters.
