The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S801N37N3S reduced voltage soft starter is a multifunctional 3-pole soft starter from the S801 series of non-combination industrial-based soft starters that are designed for the smooth control of 3-phase motors. The S801 starter family provides high-performance limiting of the inrush currents and torque of industrial motors, which results in a safer, smoother, and more gradual startup for the motors. This smooth motor start-up helps to prevent wear on the gears, belts, chains, shafts, clutches, and the bearings and it also helps to prolong the lifespan of motors. The S801N37N3S soft starter is rated at 37 Amps, and it is suitable for applications with 200 to 600 Volts AC input voltage. It has a normal-duty overload rating of 10 Horsepower, 15 seconds of average ramp time (in a ramp range of 0.5 to 180 seconds), a 300% maximum current limit, and up to 4 starts per hour at 40 degrees Celsius.
The S801N37N3S soft starter has an integral bypass contactor, and like all Eaton S801 starters, it features 660 Volts AC insulation voltage. It offers the users selectable starting and stopping modes with adjustable ramp times, and it provides robust motor protection against jam, stall, phase reversal, and phase loss situations. The S801N37N3S soft starter features an internal run bypass that helps to minimize heat dissipation and to reduce the enclosure size and cost. It has 3-pole wiring with lead add-on lug connectors for easy wiring, and it has 24 Volts DC control voltage for enhanced machine control and safety. The S801N37N3S soft starter has an operating temperature range of –30 to 50 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature range of –50 to 70 degrees Celsius. It has a net shipping weight of 2.6 kilograms, and approximate mounting dimensions of 66.0 x 187.4 x 168.4 millimeters.
