About 1769-IG16

The 1769-IG16 is used with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. This module has Eight (16) input channels able to receive 5VDC TTL input signals. The module can also be used with a MicroLogix 1500 controller as long as it is installed on a 1769 CompactLogix I/O bank. This module contains input filtering to control the effects of contact bounce and voltage transients. Configure the 1769-IG16 with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software. The module feature Two (2) groups of Eight (8) inputs for isolation. Each group’s input filtering time can be individually configured with selections specified at 0.0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 5.0 msec both for OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions. Other configurations such as module inhibition and packet interval request are common to both groups of input channels. The power supply distance rating of 1769-IG16 is 8 modules. This means the module cannot be installed more than 8 modules away from the power supply. There is no limit to the number of modules that can be used as long as the distance rating is observed. The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. TTL inputs are inverted, the Off state signal voltage is within the range of 2.0…5.5V dc while the On state voltage is 0.2…0.8V dc. When using in a user program, use a NOT instruction to convert to traditional logic. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers. The module is intended for mounting to a properly grounded surface such as a grounding bar or a metal panel.
