The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD3100 is an EHD type of thermal-magnetic circuit breaker with non-interchangeable trip units. This is a molded case circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. It is a 100 Amps rated three-pole device from Series C. This module is built to work with 480 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC voltages. This circuit breaker is used in applications requiring high current switching capabilities. It has a molded case and hardware construction to react instantaneously and automatically in overcurrent situations. This molded case switch is UL-listed. The EHD3100 is a complete circuit breaker with load side terminals only. The load side terminals are used for wire connecting capabilities for specific wire ratings and wire types.
On the front side, there is a handle to put this device into a working state (on). When there is an overcurrent trip, the handle goes automatically to the “trip” position, opens the power circuit, and protects all the equipment connected behind it. After the trip situation, the user must pull the handle to the “off” and then to the “on” state. The Eaton EHD3100 has dimensions of 6.00 inches x 4.13 inches x 3.38 inches (152.4 millimeters x 104.8 millimeters x 85.7 millimeters). These dimensions correspond to the F-frame sized thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. Before installing the device, inspect it and then mount it to the panel without tightening the screws to more than 28 pounds on an inch. After that, connect the wires to the power terminals. The EHD3100’s shipping weight is approximated at 4.3 pounds (1.95 kilograms). Its normal operating temperature should not be greater than 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).
