About GD3060

The Cutler-Hammer GD3060 is a 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker that fits in the G frame and is part of Series C. This circuit breaker belongs to the Cutler-Hammer product line, by the Eaton Corporation. The mechanism of this circuit breaker is based on a magnetic trip action through the use of an electromagnet located in series, along with the load current. When the current reaches a predetermined value, a tripping action is then achieved. The Cutler-Hammer GD3060 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker operates with a maximum continuous current rating of 60 Amps, calibrated at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. It has a maximum voltage of 480 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. The Cutler-Hammer GD3060 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker has non-interchangeable trip units. This circuit breaker is suitable for reverse feed use and it is HACR rated. It has the common trip type and it can be used on all 3-phase delta applications.

When installing the Cutler-Hammer GD3060 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker, a longer cable than average may be used. If the circuit breaker is going to be used at a temperature higher than 40 degrees Celsius, it may derate by at least 20%. If the circuit breaker is going to be used in an enclosure, further derating may happen. The circuit breaker is panel-mounted when installing or handling the breaker, users must be aware that there are specific parts that have a high surrounding air temperature. Also, if located in a series it is imperative that the installation is performed by a technician in order to guarantee proper functioning.
