The GDB3080 is a 3-pole Type GDB thermal magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton. It is part of Series C of the Eaton molded case circuit breakers and its continuous amperage rating at 40 degrees Celsius is 80 Amps, while its maximum operating voltage is 480 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC with 22 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. This breaker features non-interchangeable trip units and is suitable for reverse feed use and for providing short circuit, high current, and overload protection for 3-phase industrial equipment. Eaton's GDB3080 thermal magnetic circuit breaker is equipped with line and load terminals on each pole and it incorporates high-repulsion contacts that greatly improve the performance of its trip mechanism. Its operating mechanism is a toggle type switch that doubles as its operating status indicator and it is compatible with a wide array of Series C circuit breaker accessories.
The trip-free function available on the GDB3080 thermal magnetic circuit breaker makes it possible to use padlockable or non-padlockable handles on it without stopping it from tripping when faults occur. An electrical operator can also be easily connected to it to provide remote operation, monitoring, and resetting. The glass-polyester casing of the GDB3080 thermal magnetic circuit breaker has been treated to repel moisture and fungus, and it provides insulation for the breaker component. Note that while the GDB3080 breaker is suitable for use in different industrial environments, exposing it to corrosive gasses or direct rainfall may result in malfunction or damage.
