The Eaton Corporation JDC3125 is a UL-certified and 125 Amps rated circuit breaker. It is a JDC type of circuit breaker with a J Frame. The JDC3125’s voltage specifications are 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. The interrupt ratings for the JDC3125 are 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and 200 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. The J-frame JDC3125 has 14.25 pounds of weight. Its dimensions are 4.13 x 4.13 x 4.06 inches. JDC type circuit breakers are rated at a maximum of 250 Amps of current and 600 Volts AC operating power. The complete JDC3125 is provided with an integrated and replaceable trip unit which is a thermal magnetic unit. It is a 3-pole breaker and it also includes load and line terminals. The terminals are all made from aluminum.
To reduce the risk of breaker damage and tripping due to overheating terminals, an appropriate type of joint compound is highly recommended to be used when aluminum wires and conductors are used for terminations on the breaker terminals. The JDC3125 is installed in high-voltage and high-current systems. Therefore, to minimize the risk of injury or death, in addition to following the generally accepted safety procedures, the JDC3125 should always be installed by trained technical personnel. Furthermore, the JDC3125 should always be switched off during installation and also during maintenance. The installation process comprises circuit breaker inspection, the mounting of the breaker, the attachment of line and load terminals, the torquing of the terminals, and finally the attachment of the load and line wires. Prior to installation, the suitability of breaker to the system requirements should be verified.
