The HKD3250 is a Cutler-Hammer molded case circuit breaker engineered under the C Series. The unit comes as a 3-pole circuit breaker with 250 Amps of current. The interrupt rating for the HKD3250 is a 65-kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 480 Volts AC, 100-kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 240 Volts AC, 35-kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 600 Volts AC, and 22-kilo Amperes Interrupt Capacity at 250 Volts DC. The HKD3250 features a maximum voltage of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. It is also made of aluminum and it has the fixed thermal trip type and a fixed magnetic trip type. The HKD3250 comes with the line and load terminals. It has a frequency rating of 50 to 60 Hertz and it is an HKD circuit breaker type with the K-frame size.
The HKD3250 and other K-frame circuit protectors are HACR-rated circuit breakers sold as individual components or that can be sold assembled from the factory as a complete circuit breaker. In addition, the K-frame breakers come with the non-interchangeable circuit breaker units and are effective for reverse feed use. The most common uses for the HKD3250 include use in panelboards, switchboards, motor control, and in busway devices and it provides reliable circuit protection. The HKD3250 is available for 600 Volts AC and the 250 Volts DC applications. During the installation of the HKD3250, the users are cautioned to adhere to the recommendations and warnings that relate to the safety of the personnel and the equipment as provided in the user manual. The HKD3250 comes with an instruction booklet that gives the procedures for installing and field testing K Frame circuit breakers. Always conduct an inspection of the circuit breaker to ensure that it is suitable for the intended installations. This is done by comparing the information on the nameplate with the equipment ratings and requirements.
