About KD4100

The KD4100 is a Type KD, 4-Pole, Series-C Cutler-Hammer thermal-magnetic circuit breaker with interchangeable trip units manufactured by Eaton. It has a K-frame and it is rated at 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC maximum operating voltage, 100 Amps trip current, 10 kIAC at 250 Volts DC, 25 kIAC at 600 Volts AC, 35 kIAC at 4800 Volts AC, and 65 kIAC at 240 Volts AC, at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. It is typically used for control, branch and main short circuit protection, as well as overload protection for different kinds of equipment and circuitry. Like all K-Frame Series C Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers that have interchangeable trip units, the KD4100 circuit breaker is suitable for reverse feed use and it can be vertically or horizontally mounted on a panel board or in a NEMA enclosure.

All 4 poles onboard the KD4100 feature line and load terminals as well as adjustable thermal and adjustable magnetic trip units. The switch’s position as well as the color strip below it indicate the on, off, or tripped status of the circuit breaker and its very fast blow open action greatly reduces trip delay time. The casing of the KD4100 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is molded from quality glass-polyester material to withstand different environments and to protect the internal components. It is factory-assembled with its standard components but it can be used with internal and external accessories including undervoltage trip mechanisms, a shunt trip, an alarm switch, or terminal shields to prevent accidental contact with the terminals when they are live.
