The result of collaboration between Cutler-Hammer and Westinghouse, the Westinghouse KD4400F/Cutler-Hammer circuit breaker is one of the most innovative molded case circuit breakers on the market. The KD4400F belongs to Cutler-Hammer’s C Series product line and it is a KD type of circuit breaker. A bolt-on connection, as well as thermal magnetic protection, are just 2 of the standout features of the KD4400F. The KD4400F is a 3-phase device with Long-time and Instantaneous (LI) functions. There are no terminals featured on the KD4400F. The voltage rating of the KD4400F is 600 Volts AC while the current generation capacity of the circuit-breaker ranges from 125 to 400 Amps. The frequency rating of the KD4400F ranges between 50 and 60 Hertz. The AIC rating of the KD4400F is 35 kAIC generated at 480 Volts AC.
It has multiple interrupt ratings which are 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, 25 kAIC at 600 Volts AC, 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC, 65 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 40 kAIC at 380 TO 415 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. The total number of poles in the KD4400F is 4. The KD4400F has a K type of frame and it features the panel type of mounting and installation methods. To properly install the KD4400F while maintaining the proper safety protocols, a NEMA open-type enclosure is required.
