The Eaton Cutler Hammer KES3125LS Digitrip RMS 310 Electronic Trip Unit is a stand-alone Electronic Trip Unit for the Series C Frame F, circuit breakers with electronic trip unit, used for overload protection in applications requiring high levels of system coordination. This trip unit provides microprocessor-based RMS current sensing for enhanced circuit protection, and it has manually adjusted set switch on the front panel with up to nine time-current setting options designed to meet user’s application needs. The KES3125LS has a continuous current rating of 125 Amps, suitable for circuit breakers with standard, high, and ultra-high interrupting capacities (35, 65, and 100 KAIC) at 480 Volt AC input, and it is designed with 3-pole wiring with a standard line and load terminals connected to each pole. For optimized protection, the KES3125LS is designed with a 125 Amp rated plug, and it has a built-in quick acting, over temperature trip capability, which protects the entire trip unit in the event the temperature exceed the designated value.
Unlike the thermal-magnetic trip units, the KES3125LS and all electronic trip units in the Series C family possess powered thermal memory, an added advantage over conventional thermal and magnetic trip units. This thermal memory is designed to remember overcurrent trip events that initiated past trip timing sequence, and in the event of subsequent over current, it remembers past timing sequence and automatically imposes a shorter delay time. The KES3125LS has a long delay time of up to 12 seconds, with short delay time adjustable up to 100 milliseconds, and it is designed with LED light indicators that perform diagnosing functions. It is IEC, UL, BS, and AS certified, and it a total mounting volume of 5.5 x 10.1 x 4.1 inches (Frame and breaker inclusive).
