About HLD3400

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HLD3400 Series C Circuit Breaker is an L-Frame circuit breaker with a high interrupt rating, which provides protection against overloads from a very high fault current in a low-voltage distribution system. The HLD3400 has 3-pole wiring design, which is suitable for reverse feed use, and it has a non-adjustable trip unit made of a fixed bimetal thermal magnetic strip, which provides a fast acting current trip, in the event of an overload or prolonged very high current. This circuit breaker has a maximum operating voltage of 600 Volts AC, with a maximum current trip rating of 400 Amps, and it is designed to provide a current interrupting rating of up to 65,000 Amps.

The HLD3400 has line/load end terminals with a terminal cover, supplied as standard terminals, which provides every field wiring point, and this terminal is made of copper or aluminum conductors with a size range of 40 to 600 AWG (120 to 300 millimeters square). The HLD3400, like all solid-state circuit breakers, consists of a non-interchangeable trip unit made of fixed thermal/fixed magnetic trip breakers, which provides the trip of the operating mechanism in the event of a current overload, and it also has an operating mechanism, which provides a means of operating the breaker’s contact. The HLD3400 has 80% de-rating value at 40 degrees Celsius calibration temperature, and similar to all L-frame devices, it is HACR rated. It weighs 9.1 kilograms (20 pounds) on average, with total mounting dimensions of 209.6 x 273.1 x 103.1 millimeters (8.25 x 10.75 x 4.06 inches), and it is CE, UL, and CSA approved.
