The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HLD3600T106W is an HLD type of electronic molded case circuit breaker housed in an L frame. The device supports automating trip activity when it detects a ground fault or an overcurrent condition. The trip will happen as the result of a shunt or an undervoltage condition too. This MCCB features the toggle handle operating mechanism. The handle is automatically moved to the middle (trip) position and it serves as a switching position indicator. The handle can be moved from this position manually to off or the on positions. The electronic trip unit installed in this module is the OPTIM 1050 that performs the LSIG type of trip. This means that the HLD3600T106W has adjustable long delay protection, short delay protection, instantaneous protection, and ground fault protection settings.
In the open air at 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), the HLD3600T106W MCCB can operate continuously at up to 600 Amps. It will conduct this amount of current without exceeding a 50 degrees Celsius maximum temperature at the line and input terminals. Its OPTIM 1050 trip unit encompasses thermal temperature-protective mechanisms that start a trip operation as a self-protection feature if the internal ambient temperature reaches approximately 90 degrees Celsius (184 degrees Fahrenheit). In the case of overheating, a thermal memory effect will prevent this item from being reenergized immediately. The users must wait approximately 5 minutes for the cabling’s internal temperature to cool down enough to be touched and repaired. This is a 3-phase protective HLD3600T106W that has 100 kAIC of interrupting capacity at 240 Volts AC and 65 kAIC of interrupting capacity at 480 Volts AC.
