The Eaton Cutler-Hammer LDB2600W Moded Case Circuit Breaker is a completely assembled circuit breaker in the Eaton Series C, Frame L family of breakers with non-adjustable thermal-magnetic trip units that are used for circuit protection. It is designed to protect conductors and connected appliances from any short-circuits and overloads in 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC distribution systems, and it has 2-pole wiring design designated for single-phase use. The LDB2600W has a continuous current rating of 600 Amps, and it provides 35 KAIC of maximum interrupting rating. Like every factory-assembled breaker, it comprises an insulated frame, a non-adjustable trip unit, and a trip-free operating mechanism.
The trip unit is made of thermal and magnetic trip elements which provide instantaneous trip action, and the breaker achieves this trip action by using a bimetal strip heated by a line load, and an electromagnetic in series with the line load. Its operating mechanism is of a quick make/break type, which prevents the breaker contacts from being held together in the event of an abnormal circuit condition, and it is also used to indicate if the breaker is tripped, on, or off. The LDB2600W, like every Series C thermal-magnetic circuit breaker, is designed to operate at a temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and at any operating temperature above this value, it will de-rate the carrying current. To rectify this, the breaker must be calibrated to a higher operating temperature. The LDB2600W is CE marked and CSA, and UL certified, and it comes with total shipping dimensions of 209.6 x 273.1 x 103.1 millimeters (width x height x depth).
