The LDB3400 is a Type LDB Cutler-Hammer Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker manufactured by the Eaton Corporation for use in 3-phase systems that require up to 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC and 400 Amps to operate. It is part of the Series C 3-pole class of Eaton circuit breakers and it has an L Frame size. It can be used in motor control centers, machine tool control panels, and other systems as a circuit protection device against overloading, short circuits, and fault currents. The LDB3400 circuit breaker offers easy operation and status indication. It features a rugged casing that encloses its high-quality components and it is designed to stay in operation for years with little or no maintenance, provided that its environmental and power ratings are not exceeded.
Thermal and thermal-magnetic trip units onboard the LDB3400 circuit breaker are non-interchangeable and they are built to provide precise circuit protection while reducing the occurrence of nuisance trips. This breaker offers high-speed blow-open action by relying on its builtin high-repulsion contacts when a fault is encountered during operation to cancel out the possibility of a jam that might prevent the breaker from opening the circuit when the power conditions call for it. Both the line and load ends of the LDB3400 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker feature 3 terminals (1 for each pole) with no neutral link and both sides support the use of a terminal shield to prevent accidental contact. The LDB3400 circuit breaker incorporates arc-extinguishing and current limiting technology. However, leaving any terminals on its line or load side loose during operation may result in discoloration, overheating, and nuisance trips.
