The LDC3450 is a molded case circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is part of Series C of the Eaton LDC Type complete molded case circuit breakers. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker features fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip units, 2 poles, 450 Amps of current rating, 600 Volts AC of voltage rating at 50/60 Hertz, 250 Volts DC, 200 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC, and line and load terminals. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is contained in a Frame L enclosure type. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is designed to provide a high level of performance in a considerably limited amount of space compared to fusible components. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker contact assembly deploys a high-speed “blow-open” mechanism by utilizing electromechanical forces from the high-level fault currents. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is controlled by a toggle-handle mechanism which is mechanically trip-free to avoid closed contacts during short circuits.
The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker’s toggle handle operating mechanism acts as a switching position indicator. The indicator indicates the on, off, and tripped positions of the Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker. The toggle handle moves to the tripped position when the Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is tripped due to overcurrent, short circuit, or undervoltage situations. The toggle handle should be placed in the off position when switching off the Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker by using the trip-out method. When the Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker trips from an overload or short circuit, it is openly shown by the position on the toggle handle, making it easy to identify and fix the problem. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker normally undergoes 2 calibration tests on every pole to check on the trip mechanism, performance, progress, and accuracy status of the circuit breaker. The Cutler-Hammer LDC3450 circuit breaker is a current limiting device due to its high-repulsion contact configuration and to its adapting of state-of-the-art arc extinguishing technology in operating mechanisms.
