The Eaton LT2500T is an LT type electronic molded case trip unit for the L-frame Series C circuit breakers. The LT2500T has a 500 Amps current rating. It is a 2-pole device with a fixed thermal and magnetic tripping module. The magnetic trip current range is 2500 to 5000 Amps. The circuit breaker is tripped within 2 hours by a thermal element in the event of a 135% overload and it is tripped in less time for higher overloads. The circuit breaker is tripped by the magnetic element for all the currents that exceed the magnetic setting. The LT2500T is calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius and 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. The cover of the trip unit is sealed at the factory to prevent possible tampering with the calibration. The manufacturer should be consulted regarding the de-rating of the device in other ambient conditions and at other frequencies.
The installation and the maintenance procedures of the LT2500T should only be undertaken when it is powered off. Failure to do switch the power off could lead to substantial equipment damage, and to serious injury and even death to the users. In addition to ensuring that no voltage is present during installation or maintenance, all general and local safety laws and protocols should be followed. During the installation of the LT2500T in a circuit breaker, the breaker should be in the off or the tripped state. Several accessories are available for the L-frame LT2500T, including a shunt trip, low energy shunt trip, alarm or lockout switch, undervoltage release mechanism, and an auxiliary switch. it is recommended to install the internal accessories before mounting and connecting the circuit breaker.
