The Westinghouse EGE2050FFG is a circuit breaker with a fixed thermal fixed magnetic trip unit. The circuit breaker is factory sealed and features a non-interchangeable trip unit. The EGE2050FFG has a molded case which is resistant to a wide variety of environmental conditions that may hinder the optimum performance of the circuit breaker. The EGE2050FFG is meant to provide an extended service life with minimal or no maintenance. Even with such qualities, after installation, the EGE2050FFG should be subjected to routine checks to ascertain its performance. Prolonged usage of the breaker without maintenance may lead to the circuit breaker being clogged hence lowering its circuit-protection properties.
The EGE2050FFG, as with other series G circuit breakers from Eaton, occupies less space compared to other fusible devices. The circuit breaker, as with other Eaton circuit breakers, uses a superior technology which creates a high-speed blow open action using the electromagnetic forces generated by high level fault currents. The reliability of the EGE2050FFG is ensured through advanced testing of each pole at the factory. Eaton Corporation uses the best contact designs in every circuit breaker to guarantee its adaptability to diverse environments. The Eaton EGE2050FFG has two poles and is designed to provide circuit protection in single-phase powered circuits. The circuit breaker has load and line side lug terminals and accommodates feed-thru connections. The EGE2050FFG features standard interrupting capacities. The rated current for the circuit breaker is 50 Amperes while the maximum rated voltage is 600 Volts AC. The EGE2050FFG uses a toggle handle operating mechanism which also serves as a switching position indicator.
